Charles K. Armstrong is an associate professor of the Department of History at Columbia University, New York. He is director of the Center for Korean Research at the university.
Armstrong is the author of ``The Koreas'' (2007) and numerous publications on South and North Korea.
He completed his bachelors degree in East Asian studies at Yale University, his masters degree in international relations at the London School of Economics in Britain and his Ph.D. in History from the University of Chicago in 1994,
Armstrong is currently teaching at Seoul National University as a visiting professor.
