Busan will launch a radio station with a 24-hour English service within the year.
The city government will soon establish a foundation for the station and apply for permission to broadcast from the central government, a Busan city official said.
The station will air English radio programs to provide foreign residents with various information related to their daily living and help citizens improve their English skills, the official said.
The city government earmarks about 1.5 billion won for the establishment of the foundation and about 1 billion won for the annual operation of the station.
