The head of a disabled people's association allegedly killed one of its members over insurance money, Gyeonggi Police Station said Thursday.

Police arrested 41 year-old Lee, the director of the regional disabled people's association and his friend, also a Lee, on charges of driving a one-ton truck over a 31 year-old mentally challenged person named Han on Apr. 12 in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. Police said they got Han drunk on soju beforehand to try and disguise the crime as an accident.

Lee hired Han last year as a contract worker. Han later took out an 83million won insurance policy designating Lee as the recipient. Lee allegedly hired his hometown friend to kill Han and disguise it as a traffic accident.

Police said the crime was premeditated.
