Romanian President Traian Basescu will visit Seoul from Sept. 10-12 for a summit with President Lee Myung-bak, Cheong Wa Dae announced Wednesday.
The two leaders will discuss ways of expanding economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, the presidential office said in a press release. The summit is slated for Thursday.
The Romanian president will also meet with National Assembly Speaker Kim Hyong-o and visit a liquefied natural gas terminal in Incheon, it said.
The visit will be Basescu's second trip to Korea following his first in 2005.
Lee's predecessor, Roh Moo-hyun, visited the southeastern European country in September 2006. Romania joined the EU in January 2007.
