The remains of four South Koreans killed in a car crash in the northern Philippines were repatriated Saturday, Yonhap News reported.

The crash claimed the lives of 10 South Koreans, including two Christian missionaries.

They were killed when their van fell off a cliff amid heavy rain in Pangasinan Province on Luzon Island Wednesday, according to the South Korean Embassy in the Philippines. All in the van died.

As bereaved family members arrived at an airport in the southeastern port city of Busan with a box containing the ashes of the victims, relatives and church officials burst into tears, witnesses said.

The remains of the other six will arrive at Incheon International Airport, South Korea's main gateway west of Seoul, early Sunday morning.

Local police reportedly suspect the bus driver was speeding despite slippery road conditions.
