The Seoul Metropolitan Government will provide 100,000 bottles of the tap water brand Arisu from Saturday to volunteers and South Korea cheering members at the Beijing Summer Olympics.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who is in Beijing to attend the opening ceremony, will donate them to the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

About 80,000 bottles will be delivered to a volunteer association and the remaining 20,000 to a South Korean cheering squad there.

``These Olympics are a good opportunity for us to promote Arisu overseas,'' a Seoul city official said.

The bottled tap water will hit South Korea late this year, and the city government will export the brand to Asian countries including China.

This is the second time the city has offered Arisu to the Chinese. In June, 100,000 bottles were sent to the earthquake-hit Sichuan Province.
