Hundreds of internationally adopted South Koreans will gather in Seoul this week to celebrate the 10th anniversary of an adoptee conference.
The 10th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Conference of Global Overseas Adoptees' Link (G.O.A.'L) will open Friday through Sunday, according to G.O.A.'L officials.
G.O.A.'L, a adoptee-run registered non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Seoul, has helped overseas Korean adoptees access South Korea since 1998.
The organization has been campaigning for adoptee rights by lobbying the Korean government, providing adoptee-focused post-adoption services and organizing an annual conference addressing adoption-related issues.
The conference is intended to help Korean adoptees find their birth families and build stronger networks within the global Korean adoptee community, the officials said.
