Children will be able to learn online how to escape from disasters such as storms, floods, earthquakes and fires, from July 21 through Aug. 31, the National Emergency Management Agency (MENA) reported Thursday.

The agency said that it will put a safety program Monday on its homepage (www.nema.go.kr) so that children can learn the escape methods online during the summer vacation.

The program, called "Kid Safety King," consists of animated video episodes and quizzes to help children understand the material. There are three separate classes for kids in kindergarten, 1st to 3rd grade, and 4th to 6th grade in elementary school, a spokesman said.

The agency will award scorers of 80 points or more in a safety precautions test with a safety e-certificate, "Safety King," he added.
