The funeral service of Park Wang-ja, the 53-year-old South Korean tourist shot dead Friday by a North Korean soldier at Mount Geumgang, was held in Seoul Tuesday.

Park's family members and people from her church attended the service at Asan Medical Center, as well as executives of Hyundai Group, the parent company of Hyundai Asan, the tour operator in charge of trips to the North's scenic mountain.

Park's body was buried at a site in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, which Hyundai prepared for her.

Hyundai Asan has decided to pay compensation to the family besides insurance money, but did not disclose the exact amount. Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun recommended all Hyundai workers and executives wear black suits or white ribbons as a sign of mourning for Park.
