Companies stationed in the joint industrial complex in North Korea will have easier access to the site, the Kaesong Industrial District Management Committee said Saturday.
They can enter the reclusive state by applying for an online entry system at www.kidmac.com from Monday, it announced.
Previously to enter North Korea, companies had to submit a written application by email or post to a local storage platform, webhard, and then wait until officials of the committee forwarded the documents to the North.
The organization conducted a pilot run for the electronic procedure in June and about 100 firms in or soon to be in the complex will be able to access the site under the system from Monday.
The simplified procedure is expected to provide companies as well as the government with greater convenience, an official of the committee said.
The committee plans to link its new system with the Unification Ministry's computerized system which controls North Korea-related processes such as arrival, departure and tour approvals.
