A magnitude-4.2 earthquake struck Korea's southern resort island of Jeju Saturday but there were no reports of injuries or property damage, weather officials said.

The temblor, which erupted at 9:22 p.m., left some residents and buildings in the island shaken, they said.

The quake is believed to have originated in the sea 78 kilometers south of the island, the weather officials said.
