elect Beyond Economic Development

Listen

By Lee Jae-won

Mr. President-elect, I understand you prioritize economic development. But there are other important non-economic issues in running the country. I want you to pursue a policy of establishing a system where justice prevails in society. For example, corrupt politicians and crimes of businessmen must not be tolerated in the name of economic revival. These practices have thus far been tolerated.

Reforms may encounter hurdles when these crimes are not tolerated. But on a long-term basis, prosecution of business crimes will be more rewarding for the economy and society.
