A court has exonerated 14 people who were given jail terms related to the so-called ``Inhyeokdang scandal'' 23 years ago.
Seoul Central Court said the defendants were tortured and forced to make false statements.
Park Chung-hee's military junta in 1974 announced they had arrested 23 members of ``Inhyeokdang'' who were carrying out spy missions for North Korea. Eight of them were executed 20 hours after the Supreme Court sentenced them to death the following year.
The eight deceased were cleared last year when the court admitted the group was a fabrication and had never existed.
