A renowned producer of musicals was booked on charges of assaulting an actress during a scuffle in a pub.
Hyehwa Police Station in Jongno-gu, central Seoul, said Monday the producer identified only as Cho, was booked without physical detention on charges of hitting an actress identified as ``Seo'' with a 500cc-beer glass at a pub located in Jongno-gu, Monday.
Seo, 26, received injuries to the head. She was taken to a nearby hospital immediately and left the hospital later that morning.
``While we were sharing views on love between men and women, I was provoked by the actress' impolite words,'' Cho said in the police questioning.
The two were drinking with other colleagues after the first weekend performance of a musical.
The producer has recently earned fame with the success of a musical that kicked off in June last year.
