The presidential transition team said Tuesday that Eo Cheong-soo, commissioner of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA), will be named as chief of the National Police Agency (NPA).
Eo, 53, will replace incumbent NPA Commissioner Lee Taek-soon.
He has led the SMPA since last May.
Eo graduated from Dongguk University, Seoul.
