President-elect Lee Myung-bak has designated Park Bum-hoon, president of Chung-Ang University in Seoul, as chairman of the presidential inauguration preparation committee, Lee's aides said Tuesday.
Lee will be sworn in as the 17th president of the Republic of Korea on Feb. 25.
A native of Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, the university president was named to concurrently serve as chairman of the cultural and arts policy committee of Lee's campaign headquarters, but he quit the job due to objections from opponents.
