No Discussion on Kim Yong-nams Seoul Visit

Listen

Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung denied a report Wednesday that North Korea's No. 2 man, Kim Yong-nam, will visit Seoul next month.

``We haven't discussed the visit officially,'' Lee told reporters. ``The visit by Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea, was agreed upon during the inter-Korean summit on Oct. 2-4.''

Asked if there was unofficial discussion, Lee declined to answer.

Kim's visit to Seoul in December was discussed during the summit in Pyongyang.

When President Roh Moo-hyun asked North Korean leader Kim Jong-il to visit Seoul during the summit, Kim said that he will visit Seoul when time is ripe after Kim Yong-nam's visit.
