Pfizer Korea Drops Lawsuit
Korea United Pharm has won the right to market a medication for urinary incontinence.
The company announced Friday that it secured the right to exclusively sell its new anti-urinary incontinence medication on Korean market after Pfizer Korea withdrew a patent lawsuit on Oct. 5.
Korea United Pharm developed the new medication after learning that an anti-urinary incontinence medication developed by Pfizer, which went on sale here in 1998, did not contain a specific ingredient that helps improve the effect of the medication.
In July 2005, Korea United Pharm won approval from the Korea Food and Drug Administration to sell its product on the Korean market.
Pfizer Korea filed a lawsuit claiming that Korea United Pharm had violated the Patent Right Protection Law.
