A 77-story twin tower building will be built in Cheongra District in Incheon Free Economic Zone.
The 5.7 trillion won construction will be conducted by the Korea Land Corp. with funding by foreign investors, and will take nearly four or five years for completion.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy said it will hold a briefing with World Trade Centers Association members on Thursday. If the association authorizes the plan, the building will be named World Trade Center.
There will be international finance-related companies, and organizations and other companies in one building; the other building will be filled with a resort, hotel, medical centers and other facilities. A ministry official said that 10 world-renowned organizations have already filed for application.
The organizers said they also will present plans introduce a casino resort named after Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and a branch of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, the U.S.
``We hope the building will work as a hub or landmark of Northeast Asian finance and economy,'' an official said.
