Cho Seung-hui, the shooter of the Virginia Tech Massacre, is still drawing people's attention as it topped the country's No. 1 search engine Naver's most searched word list for the second consecutive week.
Various new reports online said that his fellow students had forgiven him; that he suffered from isolation and depression when alive; and that his sister had released an apology statement.
Internship applications placed second. More and more companies are having internship programs for university students or graduates and these give students an advantage in finding work.
Recently, Shinsegae, one of the nation's largest distributors, announced that all new recruits must have taken part in its internship program. It has only 100 vacancies and fierce competition is expected for the jobs.
Coming in third was certification. Various certifications are on the market, from yachting instructor to computer skills. More than 10,000 certifications are attracting people. Recently online recruiting portal sites have opened a certification newsflash service that provides job opening news for certificate holders.
Pop group Super Junior member Kyu Hyun ranked fourth. He was seriously injured in a car accident two weeks ago and reportedly had serious surgery. He was said to have had several critical moments, but last week was moved to a normal bed from the intensive care unit.
Coming in fifth was rivalry. Online recruiting site Saramin conducted a survey of 1,201 people to find that 52.6 percent of the respondents had rivals in their workplace.
When others complimented their peers for their work, 47.8 percent felt jealousy. When someone is always doing well, it also stimulates rivalries _ 10.8 percent said they always feel this way, while 33.4 percent said they needed rivals because they wanted to work harder.
