"The only gassing that took place in the camps was to kill the lice that caused typhus. Gassing was a life-saving measure, not a homicidal one."
This, printed in The Korea Times edition under the headline "Holocaust exaggerated" by a writer identified only as "Yvette," is the most cynical humiliation of Holocaust victims I have ever seen in my life.
I understand the publication of anonymous internet scribbles on your hospitable pages is intended to represent the "voices of the people."
But the contribution of "Yvette" is not an opinion in a spectrum of "diverse views." It is the denial of facts in the context of the Holocaust that are historically proven beyond a doubt.
As a German born one generation after those indescribable horrors, it is my duty to fight against such humiliation of the victims, the very worst of all cynicisms.
