Help North Korea

Listen

Dear editor

I’m writing in response to a Sept. 21 article by Sunny Lee under the title of “Ambitious graduates seek to help North Korea.”

I know there are other nonprofit organizations that help with the

North Korean cause, but it’s great to hear that there is an organization like Choson Exchange that goes into North Korea with this specific approach and ultimately working for the “coming out” of North Korea.

International finance, economics, and especially law are some fields that North Korea could really use help in, because from reading various articles and books, North Korea’s judicial system is a real sham and exists just for show.

There seems to be some change going on in North Korea with the proposed reunions of separated families and the ailing North Korea leader Kim Jong-il’s bid for a hereditary power succession to his youngest son, Jong-un.

Change is what North Korea needs and hopefully the next leader, Kim Jong-un or whoever it may be, will come in with a new perspective that will help Geoffrey See and Choson Exchange’s purpose.
