Why do women like bad guys? It seems their presence is very sought on TV. The sweet and innocent girl who meets a bad guy who is handsome, wild, and a bit selfish and turns him into a kind sincere hearted guy, is a popular theme in Korean soaps.

Many a woman loves a tough and untamed guy in the real world. Even I have two close friends inclined to such attraction.

I'm 30 in Korean age and everyone says its time I found my soul mate. I had many blind dates to find my soul mate. Because I always went out with nice guys throughout my dating history, I never questioned my preference for a sweet, kind guy as a boyfriend

I always told my friends that kindness and consideration were my requirements for a boyfriend. However, nowadays I find that I am also attracted to bad guys and the realization initially made me quite depressed. I never thought that I would like bad guys.

I spent time thinking about my two years of blind dates more carefully and I noticed that there were sweet and nice guys who made me happy. They were almost perfect! They had great personalities and nice jobs. The one thing that made them not perfect was that I was not that into them.

After many struggles, I finally found a guy whom I wanted to be my boyfriend. He seemed cold-hearted on the one hand, but also extremely kind on the other. I had thought that I easily knew men's feelings but it was difficult to find out how he felt about me. When we met or talked he treated me like a princess, but unlike other guys he seldom called me.

For the first time I didn't know how to handle the situation. He knew how he should act and had the power to control me. I was a bit impatient to catch him and wanted him to be my boyfriend. My friends said I should take action, because they were so sure that he liked me as much as I liked him. So I took a chance and confessed my feelings to him.

Then he had only good things to say about me, such as ``you are so perfect," and so forth. But he then finished with, ``You deserve a better guy." He refused me! I was so sad and talked to my best friend, saying that I met a player who knew what women wanted and what the rules of relationships were.

My best friend remarked that I had liked bad guys since I was in university. That comment was shocking!

However, when I took an honest look back into my past, I saw that though I was attracted to some good guys, I usually had a huge crush on bad ones. I finally admitted that I was also a woman who was attracted to bad guys.

I started to wonder how many women like to go out with bad guys and what their charming points are. I made a survey to figure out my curiosity. I surveyed 50 female colleagues and found some interesting points.

About 42 percent of women had at least one bad guy as a boyfriend in their lives. I found some interesting points while I was conducting the survey.

The women who didn't have a bad boy friend marked the most valuable quality as diligence and kindness. However, women who had a bad boyfriend tended to go for appearance.

Most women said that a bad guy was good-looking and independent, had a nice job that he was devoted to fully, and knew how to handle women.

When a bad guy decided to end a relationship with a woman, he acted like he cared about his girlfriend with comments such as ``I'm not good enough for you" or ``I can't satisfy your needs," and just broke her heart and never looked back.

Sometimes many women get bored with nice guys. We all want to be excited and have fun. Having a boyfriend who enjoys a love game might be fun. However, just be careful if you tend to find excitement in your love life because it might hurt you badly.
