BMW Korea’s flagship luxury sedan, the 7 Series, ranked first in sales in Korea’s imported premium large sedan market for the second consecutive year, the carmaker said Wednesday.

According to data from the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association, sales of the 7 Series, including the all-electric i7, totaled 5,834 in 2025, up 17 percent from a year earlier.

Sales growth was evident across the model’s diverse powertrain lineup, with the BMW 740i xDrive emerging as the top seller at 3,025 sales last year, accounting for more than half of the 7 Series total.

Demand for the diesel-powered 740d xDrive remained steady, with sales climbing about 23 percent to 1,654 during the same period. The i7 recorded 706 sales, helping broaden the 7 Series’ footprint in the electric vehicle market, while the plug-in hybrid BMW 750e xDrive posted deliveries of 449 last year.

BMW Korea has attributed the sustained success of the 7 Series in the local imported luxury car market to its “power of choice” strategy.

As customer preferences evolve and demand for consistent design and premium features grows across both internal combustion and electrified vehicles, the 7 Series’ broad powertrain lineup has resonated strongly with buyers, the carmaker said.

Through its BMW Individual program, the local subsidiary lets customers personalize four key elements of the 7 Series — exterior styling, exterior color, trim, and seat material and color — offering up to 22,000 possible combinations.

BMW Korea also plans to continue introducing limited-edition models through the BMW Individual Manufaktur program, showcasing the brand’s highest level of craftsmanship.

The carmaker also offers exclusive lifestyle experiences for BMW 7 Series owners. BMW Korea’s BMW Excellence Club, available to buyers of the 7 Series and other BMW luxury-class models, goes beyond vehicle ownership to deliver curated lifestyle experiences tailored to individual customers.

One flagship example of the club is the VIP access to the Cannes Film Festival. Each year, the carmaker selects members through a draw and offers opportunities, such as walking the red carpet and staying at premium hotels. BMW Group is an official partner of the festival, one of the world’s most influential film festivals held annually in southern France.

“BMW Korea will continue to unveil more diverse premium lineups to meet growing demand for luxury vehicles here, and the 7 Series will stand at the center of enhancing our premium identity,” an official from the carmaker said.
