Mirae Asset Global Investments announced Tuesday that its European exchange-traded fund (ETF) reached $2 billion concerning assets under management (AUM).
AUM is the total market value of the investments managed by a person or entity on behalf of investors.
The milestone comes just four years after the asset management arm of Mirae Asset Financial Group advanced to the ETF market in Europe.
“We expect our achievement will draw global investors’ attention,” Mirae Asset Global Investments said, noting Europe is the second-largest market after the United States for ETFs.
In particular, the company highlighted that one of its ETF subsidiaries, Global X EU, grew large enough to operate 42 ETF products and posted a growth rate of nearly 136 percent year-on-year in 2024.
Correspondingly, Global X EU had its AUM increase from $850 million to $2 billion over the cited period.
Global X EU expanded presence in thematic ETFs, particularly with the launch of Global X US Infrastructure Development UCITS, which focuses on U.S. infrastructure enterprises.
The ETF has become a flagship product for the company, with net assets of 758 billion won ($527 million).
To cope with growing demand from European investors, Global X EU introduced the Global X European Infrastructure Development UCITS in September.
In addition to thematic ETFs, Global X EU has been recognized for its income-oriented and materials-focused ETFs.
Mirae Asset Global Investments has an extensive ETF platform worldwide, including the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.
The company’s global ETF platform has AUM worth $119 billion.
