Many listeners will probably roll their eyes, except the fathers, who are likely to be chortling with amusement. Some netizens say fathers tell such juvenile jokes because dads tend to see their offspring as young children, no matter how old they are.

Another says, “I like to think that puns help young children learn to think outside the box to get the joke.
