Hilton said it had signed a management agreement with Joon Tower for the Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam earlier this month, to boost its presence in Korea.
When it opens, the new hotel will provide an upscale and affordable accommodation option to travelers through its 208 guest rooms, full-service restaurant and bar, conference facilities, an outdoor pool and a fitness room, as well as a shop selling snacks, beverages and coffee 24 hours a day.
“In 2019, Korea saw a record number of around 17.5 million inbound visitors. We see Korea as a high-potential tourist destination once the pandemic eases,” said Guy Phillips, Hilton's senior vice president, development, Asia and Australasia.
Located in the center of Gangnam District, southern Seoul, the Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam is 30 kilometers from Gimpo International Airport and 65 kilometers from Incheon International Airport.
Renowned as one of the country's main tourist areas, Gangnam features trendy restaurants, upscale and designer-brand shopping malls, as well as a vibrant nightlife.
Close to key cultural, entertainment, shopping and commercial areas, the hotel will be optimally situated for guests to enjoy popular tourist attractions, such as the COEX mall, Bongeunsa Temple and the Seolleung and Jeongneung royal tombs.
In addition, as Gangnam is also a major business district, having become a base for many major corporations, particularly in the technology and insurance sectors, the hotel will serve as a convenient base for business travelers.
“We are thrilled to announce the entry of our fourth brand, Hilton Garden Inn, into the Korean market,” said Timothy Soper, Hilton's vice president for operations for Japan, Korea and Micronesia. “We look forward to delivering great guest experiences through the brand's bright-hearted hospitality, when we open the Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam this summer.”
The upcoming hotel participates in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest loyalty program for Hilton's 18 hotel brands.
Members who book directly have access to instant benefits, including a flexible payment slider that allows members to choose nearly any combination of points and money to book a stay, as well as an exclusive member discount, free standard Wi-Fi and access to the Hilton Honors mobile app.
