JW Marriott Dongdaemun offers outdoor terrace party

The JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul is presenting its Cheers Night, a summer party on an outdoor terrace in the heart of the city until Aug. 31.

Available at The Lounge in the hotel lobby or on the outdoor terrace of the 11th floor rooftop bar, The Griffin, it features a plate of five assorted canapes crafted by Swiss executive chef Michel Eschmann and a choice of one bottle from among three world-renowned premium champagnes ― Moet and Chandon, Perrier-Jouet Brut and Andre Clouet Silver Brut Nature.

The chef's canape menu includes smoked salmon mousse topped with caviar, tuna tartare with avocado, dill and lavosh, and ricotta cheese with rucola and zucchini.

The promotion is available from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Lounge and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Griffin.

Alcove Hotel Seoul reborn

The Alcove Hotel Seoul has been renamed Hotel Crescendo Seoul, managed by Accor and Ambassador to introduce the latest dining concepts that focus on culinary arts and music.

As its name suggests, the property will seek to highlight the jazz and classical genres of the early 20th century. Popular French songs dating back to the last century can be heard at Bienvenue Cafe, while classical works displayed by some of the world's greatest composers from Germany, Austria, Italy and Spain are exhibited throughout the hotel's Bienvenue Restaurant.

Also, diners can look forward to an authentic mix of Italian dishes including steak, seafood, pasta and homemade signature desserts at the restaurant.

Park Hyatt signs partnership with WWF, abalone fishing firm

The Park Hyatt Seoul has reached a three-way partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)-Korea and local abalone fishing firm Chungsanbada on Wando, South Jeolla Province, for sustainable business.

Under the partnership, the Park Hyatt will use the company's Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)-certified abalones in its dining facilities, while the international nongovernmental organization will educate the property's executives and employees about responsible use of seafood.

The Park Hyatt Seoul has used the company's abalones that gained the ASC certification in August 2018 ― the first achievement among Asian firms ― for its breakfast, room service and banquets.

Lotte Hotel unveils Coloring Lounge

Lotte Hotel Seoul is offering an art experience program with the Monarte Institute for the summer holidays.

Available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday to Sunday until Aug. 31, it provides three programs ― color brush, pen drawing and picture craft.

Using products from Monami, Korea's leading stationery company, participants can color and draw postcards of Seoul's attractions, including N Seoul Tower. They can also make a “Columbus compass” or a Renaissance art book using design and art materials.

The Monarte Institute, with experts in various fields such as children's education, design, craft and art education, helps children learn to use various tools in their lives to express themselves creatively.
