'Sarangchae' walking tour to begin next week

A walking tour program to Cheong Wa Dae "Sarangchae" will be launched next week for foreign residents, tourists and multiracial families, the state-run tour promotion agency said, Thursday.
Sarangchae is a two-story comprehensive tourist promotion center near the presidential office designed to show visitors the history of former Korean presidents and Korea's traditional culture.
According to the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), the “Road to Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae” will begin a one-month run, being offered every Friday and Saturday, April 26 to May 25.
This tour program is only open to foreigners living in or visiting Korea and multicultural families here. The participation fee is 10,000 won ($8.80) per person.
Participants in the Friday course will visit Jogye Temple and Samcheong-dong, both of which are tourism hotspots in central Seoul, on their way to Sarangchae. The course is designed to engage millennials who love to take pictures of hotspots for social media, according to the KTO.
The Saturday course will take tourists to Gyeongbok Palace and other attractions near the presidential office, an ideal program for those who want to learn about Korean history and culture.

“Given Sarangchae means guesthouse in Korean, the KTO plans to make the Road to Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae the nation's leading walking tour program,” a KTO official said.
The official added that the tour program will return in the fall as well, from Sept. 20 to Oct. 19.
