Christmas is one month away and hotels in Korea are rolling in their collections of Christmas cake and cookies.
Conrad Seoul celebrates the Christmas season with Christmas Santa Hat Cake and Ornament White Snow Cake.
Christmas Santa Hat Cake is made with vanilla sponge cake decorated with Valrhona chocolate mousse and strawberry cream, while Ornament White Snow Cake will have dark and white chocolate, framboise cream, chocolate crunch and powdered sugar.
The hotel also presents forest cake, Buche de Noel made with chocolate mousse and white tiramisu, mince pie and assorted cookies.

Grand Hyatt Seoul’s collection includes caramel mousse cake, mango mousse Breton shortbread cake, fruitcake covered with whipped cream, chocolate truffle cake, ginger cookies, chocolate balls and jellies.
The highlight is a snowball-shaped caramel mousse cake made with soft vanilla sponge cake decorated with sweet mango puree and fruits. The sweets go on sale Dec. 5 and the cakes cost between 50,000 and 60,000 won, including tax. Pre-ordering is required. For more information, call (02) 799-8167.

Imperial Palace Seoul Hotel’s prime Christmas cake is an English fruitcake baked with tropical fruits, raisins and nuts in brandy. Decoration is with creamy chocolate mousse. The hotel also has roll cake, gingerbread, cookies, a German Christmas cake with dried fruits and raisins and Fig Gugelhupf, a crown-shaped cake bread with figs in season. Walkerhill Hotel’s Christmas cake resembles a log cabin. The main filling is sponge cake, and the shape will be made with cookies, meringue and sugar powder. Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel’s signature Christmas cake is made with layers of white chocolate in shape of a Christmas tree. The 27-centimeter-long chocolate tree wears decorations made of meringue.
