By Kim Se-jeong
Ibis Ambassador Seoul Dongdaeman’s grand opening happens today. It is the France-based Accor hotel’s 19th property in Korea. The new hotel could not have a better location.
It is in front of the Euljiro 4-ga subway station, where lines Nos.2 and 5 stop. It is also just a 10-minute walk away to Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Gwangjang Market, two major tourist attractions.
The Dongdaemun property, like other Accor properties in the country, is managed by Ambassador Group. It has 242 rooms, all equipped with Wi-Fi service, a 32-inch flat screen TV with cable, shower, safety, fridge, tea and coffee makers, telephone, light and noise insulation, hair dryer and slippers.
The hotel has three room types ― standard double room, standard twin room and standard triple room.
Its restaurant Oopen Restaurant serves a variety of pasta, grilled and fusion dishes, while its Grab & Go bar at the lobby serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and snacks during Happy Hour between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Its sports facilities, which include a gym, indoor swimming pool and indoor golf course, are free except for the tennis court. It also has two 70-percent meeting rooms that are equipped with a video projector, large projection screen, flip chart, printer and the Internet. Catering is available as well.
The Accor brand is expanding quickly across the country. It expects to have 27 hotels here by 2019. For more information about the hotel and reservations, visit
