Millennium Seoul Hilton’s Chinese restaurant, Taipan, is featuring dishes by two Chinese chefs specializing in Cantonese food and Chinese barbeque.
Chefs Liang Zon Can and Zhang Chuan Lei, both from Grand Millennium Hilton Beijing, will be preparing the dishes at the restaurant until April 3.
Cantonese cuisine, which is often called as China’s “haute cuisine,” originated from Guangdong Province and one of the eight typical culinary traditions in China. It is best known for its modest use of spices in order to highlight the flavors of the main ingredients in a dish.
The Cantonese full-course lunch or dinner starts with bean curd soup with mushroom and seafood, followed by Wok-fried prawns with broccoli in chili sauce, stir-fried boiled pork slices in chili sauce, braised vegetables in oyster sauce, fried rice with seafood and crab roe and sliced fresh fruits for dessert. The full-course lunch or dinner costs 89,000 won, including tax.
Cantonese dishes are also available a la carte, including steamed baby lobster with garlic, steamed grouper with mushroom and jujube, Wok-fried prawns with broccoli in chili sauce, Wok-fried fatty beef with mushroom and barbeque sauce, deep-fried shrimps with spiced sauce, pan-fried beef ribs in black pepper sauce, braised vegetables in oyster sauce, stir-fried boiled pork slices in chili sauce, fried rice with duck and lettuce and fried rice with seafood and crab roe.
The dishes start from 21,000 won each.
The restaurant is also serving the best roasted duck in town during the promotion.
