Hotels offer Christmas dining options

In Korea, it has become common for friends and families to dine out on Christmas and Christmas Eve, and many hotels are catering to this demand.

Millennium Seoul Hilton

’s Japanese restaurant, Genji, is welcoming guests with an eight-course Christmas meal, which includes abalone, shishamo, salmon, swellfish soup, hamachi, halibut, sea bream and salmon sashimi, grilled black cod, fresh eel and assorted sushi.

Park Hyatt Seoul

’s Christmas dinner is available on Dec. 24 and 25 at three of its restaurants.

Cornerstone is serving a five-course meal, including a glass of champagne and a special gift. The dinner costs 195,000 won per person. For the same price, the restaurant is also offering a special brunch on Christmas Day, featuring lobster, foie gras specialties, oyster, turkey and an assortment of Christmas desserts.

The Lounge is offering a five-course modern Korean dinner for couples on Dec. 24 and 25. For an additional charge, the dinner can include cake, a flower bouquet and half a bottle of champagne. The course costs only 320,000 won for two, and with the extras, 555,000 won.

The Timber House is a great dining destination for groups. It is serving a Christmas lunch buffet of Japanese dishes and drinks on Dec. 24 and 25.

For dinner, it is offering a seven-course Italian meal. The lunch and dinner each costs 180,000 won per person. For more information and reservations, call (02) 2016-1234.

Conrad Seoul

’s Pasticceria Deli is offering signature holiday sweets, cakes and other desserts, such as last year’s best seller, the Christmas Santa Hat Cake made with white chocolate mousse and strawberry cream. A new item, the Conrad Modern Tea Cake with early grey mousse, chestnut cremuex, green tea biscuits and choco-hazelnut croquant is also available this holiday season.

Other available desserts and breads include the whipped cream cake with fresh fruit; German dark chocolate Christmas forenua; buche de Noel, ― which comes in three variants _ chocolate mousse, white tiramisu and dark chocolate mousse; pandoro, panettone, stolen, mince pie and cookies.

The Christmas Santa Hat Cake costs 60,000 won, while the Conrad Modern Tea Cake 70,000 won. Other cakes start from 50,000 won, while other desserts start from 25,000 won. The items are available only until Dec. 25. For questions and reservations, call Pasticceria Deli at (02) 6137-7120/7126.

Patisserie at

Park Hyatt Busan

is offering various desserts and pastries, including German stolen cake, chocolate heaven cake, Christmas cookies, macaroons, panettone and home-made fruitcake. Prices start from 70,000 won.

The French pastry shop is also offering a takeout turkey meal, which includes a whole roasted turkey with a special sauce made with Executive Chef Shaun Keenan, mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. The turkey meal is available only on Christmas Day and must be ordered at least two days in advance. The turkey meal costs 200,000 2on, including tax.

Square Seoul is offering a dessert buffet featuring strawberries on Christmas Day.

The strawberry desserts include 10 homemade tarts and cakes, served with unlimited tea or coffee, mascarpone cream verrines, pistachio choux, mille-feuille with alternating layers of crispy pastry and rich cream, and matcha roll cake with matcha cream sandwiched between sheets of soft cake.
