Sheraton Incheon Hotel is hosting unusual special dinner-and-wine event on Sept. 9.
Almost 300 kinds of wines, all of which are winners of the third edition of the prestigious Asia Wine Trophy, will be served during the dinner.
“We are very excited to bring 300 award winning wines to Songdo and share them with our guests on that special evening. When and where else will wine aficionados have such an opportunity?” said Richard Suter, the hotel’s general manager.
The names of the wines are not yet available because the contest is taking place this weekend, Aug. 29 and 30 in Daejeon.
The fantastic menu includes bruschetta, cheese platter, assorted cold cuts, smoked salmon roulade stuffed with cream cheese, musk melon and prosciutto ham, shrimp cocktail, roasted beef rolls stuffed with pickled cucumber, cherry tomato and mozzarella cheese, assorted sushi, and a selection of Japanese maki. Barbecued meats, ― including beef, chicken, lamb and pork ― as well as sausage, scallop, prawn and squid are also on the menu.

While dinner-and-wine events are not uncommon for hotels, this one is special because the wines are all award-winning. As a representative of the organizer of the Asia Wine Trophy said, these kinds of events are rare.
The Asia Wine Trophy is certified by the International Organization of Vino and Wine (OIV).
According to the OIV guidelines, 120 jury members from 20 countries will be invited to the contest and will taste a total of more than 3,600 kinds of wines from all over the world. To ensure the fairness of the contest, a jury member is not allowed to taste more than 49 kinds of wines per day.
If you live or work in Busan, the Busan Grand Hotel will host a similar event on Sept. 11. For those who live or work in Seoul, the Grand Hilton Seoul will host a dinner on Sept. 8.
Those who want to taste all the award-winning wines can also visit the exhibition at the Daejeon Trade Exhibition Center between Sept. 3 and Sept. 6. The dinner-and-wine event is priced at 60,000 won, and reservation is required. For more information about the event and reservations, call (032)835-1712/1713.
