
The Grand Hyatt Seoul’s Terrace Restaurant presents a diverse selection of Morocco’s exotic cuisine for an extraordinary culinary experience prepared by guest chefs from the Hyatt Regency Casablanca. Chef Abdelkader Kandil, who will be accompanied by three chefs from the Hyatt Regency Casablanca, will serve three of their signature dishes including Salad Zaalouk, a baked eggplant and tomato salad; Seffa Medfouna, chicken with vermicelli; and Lamb Tagine with figs.

The Sheraton Grande Walkerhill’s CLOCK16 promotes a special menu by chef Woo Sung-kwon from July 1 through Aug. 31. He won the recent in-house competition among chefs. The course menu will consist of seven dishes including Mt. Jiri wild mushroom and spring organic vegetable salad, boiled Jeju scampi with squid filled with vegetables and monkfish, sous-vide chicken and stuffed shiitake mushroom among other ingredients for 140,000 won (tax and service charges included). In addition, CLOCK16 will offer a hotel voucher in July, September and November for a guest who can match MLB player Ryu Hyun-jin’s strike-outs on the day of his match. The Imperial Palace Seoul will open its outdoor swimming pool on June 15, as the summer heat seems near if not here already. The round-shaped swimming pool offers an exotic yet relaxing ambience, with 30 sun-beds. For the heat-intensive days from July 19 through Aug. 15, the pool will open during nighttime so guests can enjoy a splash in the moonlight.
The pool will open from 8:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. in the daytime, and from 7 p.m. through 11 p.m. at night. The entrance fee during the day is 65,000 won for adults and 33,000 won for children. At night, adults will pay 39,000 won and children 19,000 won (including tax and services). There will be poolside “chef’s special” and “grill menus” featuring such dishes as beef burger sandwiches, Neapolitean pizza and seafood nabe udon among others with the dishes starting at 20,000 won and drinks starting at 7,500 won. JW Marriott Hotel Seoul’s Lobby Lounge is serving a range of “bingsu” or crushed ice desserts and ice cream varieties to help guests cool down this summer. Two types of bingsu – the original topped with sweet red bean paste and assorted tropical fruit, and a blueberry-topped one – are available. Five ice cream dishes including the classic banana split and Mont Blanc, a rum-soaked pineapple with white chocolate sauce are on offer. Traditional ice coffee, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipping cream and chocolate will also be available. The Ritz Bar at the Ritz Carlton offers four types of tropical cocktails to help guests cope with the early summer heat.
The bar’s supervising bartender Uhm Do-hwan, who is Korea’s 2012 World Class winner, will whip up a rum-based Orange Beach shot with lemon, orange juice and apricot liquor, the gin-based Summer Breeze, and another gin-based drink, White Lady. The fourth cocktail to be offered is the Ritz Sangrita, which is a shot of tequila straight up with a slice of lemon accompanied by coffee, salt or sugar and drunk with tomato juice.
