Millennium Seoul Hilton

The Millennium Seoul Hilton’s International buffet restaurant Orangerie presents Indian cuisine for the month of May. Esteemed Chef Sanjay Tyagi from the famous Umerkot Indian Fine Dining Restaurant in Bangalore will offer his culinary talent and expertise for the event.

Diners will get the chance to experience some 20 hot and cold Indian dishes. Indian desserts will also be on offer.

Indian cuisine is as diverse as its culture, geography and climate, and is distinguished by its sophisticated use of herbs and spices.

Ritz-Carlton Seoul

The Ritz-Carlton Seoul will hold a sushi promotion “The Art of Sushi” starting May 1 at the Omakase counter in its Japanese restaurant Hanajono.

The word “omakase” means to leave it up to the chef to make all decisions, and accordingly chef Pyo Gil-tae will select the day’s finest ingredients to create unique sushi for each customer.

The menu will vary by the day, and guests who want a certain fish or ingredient should make a reservation. Lunch is priced at 89,000 won and dinner at 130,000 won (including taxes and service charges.) Chef Pyo, a veteran with 26 years experience, said the event will be a great chance to savor the finest Japanese food at a reasonable price.

Plaza

The Plaza on April 16 gave 10 million won from its “Purple in Your Heart” campaign to the Korea Mecenat Association to help students from low-income families receive art education.

The charity project ran for three months starting Dec.1, 2012. The hotel, working with the Teddy Bear Museum, introduced a “Plaza Teddy Bear” as a signature item, available at main business outlets and as part of the guestroom package.

The proceeds will go to the Joonghwa Middle School (located in Jungnang, Seoul) and the photo education group Gimmicks through the Korea Mecenat Association. The Plaza plans to hold the charity program every year from now.

Grand InterContinental Seoul

The Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and InterContinental Seoul COEX offers tasty weekend packages through the end of the year. Both hotels will offer couples staying any day between Friday and Sunday a free dining experience at any of the five hotel restaurants.

The Park Hyatt Seoul presents wine and an a cappella concert on April 25 at the Timber House. The event begins with a reception presenting unlimited wines with canapés created by Park Hyatt Seoul’s Executive Chef Massimiliano Ziano and Japanese chefs. The champagnes and wines are selected by Park Hyatt Seoul sommelier Cho Kyung-jin. The “Barbiturik Singers,” a French a cappella group consisting of four jazz vocalists, will perform from 8:30pm.
