Hilton Worldwide’s premier luxury brand, Conrad, has chosen the financial district of Yeouido as its first destination in Korea ― Conrad Seoul will open on Nov. 12.
With a new benchmark of “Smart Luxury,” the hotel will feature a contemporary and exotic environment by providing state-of-the-art facilities and services that meet the needs of various guests.
With 434 rooms in the 38-story property, Conrad Seoul will be directly connected to Yeouido Station, the International Finance Center (IFC) Seoul and an entertainment complex.
“A hotel is not just for spending the night. Hotels have stayed more or less the same in the past decade but people have not. It’s time for a change and we will unveil a new kind of hotel that Korea has never seen,” General Manager Nils-Arne Schroeder said.

The Westin Chosun Seoul has named Brian Pak as its new general manager. The 46-year-old Korean-American is the first general manager of Korean descent since the hotel’s modernization in 1970.
After graduating from the University of California, Davis with civil engineering degree, he worked as a project consultant at Intercontinental Management Consultant, designing resort facilities. He entered the hotel industry in 1999 by joining the Westin Resort, Guam. He served as a director of operations at W Seoul-Walkerhill and general manager of the Aqua Resort Club Saipan and Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort.
“My extensive experience in the hotel and tourism industry and knowledge of Korean and Western culture will be of great benefit and bring a new vibrancy to the property,” he said.

The summer session of W Seoul-Walkerhill’s year-round W Global Beats 2012 series will kick off on July 21 at WooBar.
Under the title “Summer Escape,” the hotel has invited DJ Christian Marchi from Italy, who is famous in many countries including Spain, France and Australia. Video clips of his DJing on YouTube have 2 million hits.
The party will be held from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. the next day and the dress code is white. Tickets are priced at 40,000 won at the door and 30,000 won when making reservation through Interpark. For more information, call 02-2022-0333.
