Cartoons, animations and toys are themes that capture the hearts and imagination of children and sometimes adults, too.

Hotels take advantage of this, developing packages involving famous characters.

Barbie is Sheraton Grande Walkerhill’s choice. The hotel presents the “Barbie Suite for Ladies” package through Nov. 13, 2013.

The package follows the great success of Barbie Room for girls in previous years.

The brand new room is decorated with black, silver and hot pink accents. A spacious living room with a Barbie couch, coffee tables and mini chairs invites ladies to gather for a chat or order room service for a cozy evening. A plush Barbie bed and pink-themed bathroom will also delight lady guests.

A Barbie dress is placed in the closet for those who want to play dress-up or take pictures.

Besides a one-night stay at the suite, benefits include breakfast buffet at the Club Lounge and Happy Hour, cheese platter with white wine, 10 percent discounts at restaurants, and a special gift from Barbie.

Prices start from 380,000 won for two persons, excluding tax and service charges. For more information, call 02-2022-0000.

For Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel, Pororo the Little Penguin is arguably the best and almost the only option, because the Pororo Theme Park is located in a mall connected to the hotel.

The hotel presents “Let’s Play with Pororo” package through Jan. 30 for children enjoying the winter vacation.

“The package has been put together based on the fact that 80 percent of room guests staying with children visit the theme park, which has become a ‘hot spot’ among children due to facilities recreating the penguin’s village shown in the animation,” a hotel spokeswoman said.

She added a growing number of customers come from regions other than Seoul to visit the place, so there has been demand for a package combining accommodation and the theme park.

The package features a one-night stay in a deluxe room, two tickets for adults and one for a child to the theme park, and free use of the fitness center and the swimming pool.

It is priced at 180,000 won until Jan. 19 and at 220,000 won thereafter. For more information, call the hotel at 02-2211-2100 or the theme park at 1661-6340.

Sheraton Incheon Hotel, for its part, invites guests to the Hello Kitty fantasy world.

The “Hello Kitty Planet” exhibition is being held at Tribowl, an exhibition hall located near the hotel. The three-level hall is designed as a planet of the character along with Hello Kitty’s house, gallery and art shops.

The “Hello Kitty Getaway” package includes a one-night stay in a deluxe room, breakfast for two, two tickets to the Hello Kitty Planet, a 30,000-won gift voucher that can be used at the gift shop at the exhibition, free use of the Sheraton Fitness Center, swimming pool and the sauna, and free Internet access at Link@Sheraton.

It is available through Feb. 29 and the price starts from 215,000 won. For more information, call 032-835-1004.
