Novotel Ambassador Gangnam

Novotel Ambassador Gangnam’s Japanese restaurant Shunmi introduces the Fugu (globefish) Special through Feb. 24.

Created by professional globefish chef, the set menu features an appetizer, globe fish sashimi, deep-fried globefish, globefish with vegetables in a hot pot, vinegared globefish skin, globefish porridge, and dessert. It is priced at 180,000 won.

Aside from the set menu, globefish chirinabe teishoku is available at 90,000 won, globefish sashimi at 130,000 won, globefish chirinabe at 75,000 won, and vinegared globefish skin and hire sake at 25,000 won. For more information, call 02-531-6477.

Renaissance Seoul Hotel

Here’s a chance to sample the 11 most popular dishes showcased during food promotions over the year at Renaissance Seoul Hotel’s buffet restaurant Cafe Elysee.

The “Best of Best” event, available throughout December, presents the popular menus featured during promotions of royal cuisine, Jeju cuisine and more. The dishes include ginseng platter, broiled black pork, grilled sliced beef, pine mushroom and sea cucumber, and salmon barbeque.

Lunch is priced at 57,000 won and dinner, 62,000 won. Between Dec. 17 and 31, the buffet will be offered in two sessions, with the first one being between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and the second, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. For more information, call 02-2222-8635.

W Seoul-Walkerhill

W Seoul-Walkerhill’s WooBar presents a series of parties until the end of the year with stylish decor and the best sound system.

The 2011 Wow Festive Season will begin on Nov. 25 with W Wow Party, where guests will encounter the world of explosive sound presented by Australia-based DJ DCUP and DJ Angus Wong from W Hong Kong. Tickets are 40,000 won through Interpark and 50,000 won on site.

A Christmas Eve party will take place on Dec. 24 from 10 p.m. with Italian duo DJ The S, while the New Year Party on Dec. 31 will be highlighted with music presented by DJ Belzebass. Millennium Seoul Hilton

Millennium Seoul Hilton’s French restaurant, Seasons, will hold the 65th Gourmet Circle Dinner on Dec. 9 and 10.

The Gourmet Circle Dinner, a tradition started in 1996, is offered only four times a year in each new season. Award-winning executive chef Park Hyo-nam creates one-of-a-kind menus which are paired with a fine selection of wines. The event will begin with a champagne reception at 7 p.m., followed by a seven-course meal inspired by winter.

The Plaza’s medical spa, Plaza Spa Club, offers a Reinvigoration Package for those yearning to care for cold wind-chapped skin.

Available through Dec. 31, the package consists of intensive whole-back care and facial care. The 40-minute back therapy will relieve stiff muscles in the back to reinvigorate the tired body. The 70-minute facial treatment focuses on removing skin problems and building natural resistance to fight against aging.
