Thanksgiving Day is around the corner. It is on the fourth Thursday of November, falling on Nov. 24 this year, while Korean Christians celebrate it on the third Sunday on Nov. 20.
In the holiday spirit, hotels are offering special dinners and retail items to celebrate the day.
Grand Hyatt Seoul presents a special set dinner menu at The Paris Grill just for the holiday on Nov. 24. The four-course menu includes a tian of prawn and avocado, sweet potato soup, slow-roasted turkey with apple walnut stuffing, along with a variety of traditional Thanksgiving side dishes with giblet gravy.
They will be followed by a selection of pumpkin sweets such as pumpkin pie, crunchy pumpkin cheese cake, pumpkin panna cotta and spiced pumpkin ice cream. The turkey can be substituted with a slow-roasted U.S. prime rib entree.

The set menu will also include a half bottle of wine to provide a true Thanksgiving Day experience. It is priced at 110,000 won. For more information, call 02-799-8161.
At The Deli of the hotel, holiday items are prepared for takeout. There are whole roasted U.S. turkeys or Korean rotisserie chicken with apple walnut stuffing, giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, and a wide array of appetizers and side dishes, such as roasted squash with sage cream, split pea soup, creamy mashed potatoes, sweet potato gratin, glazed honey roasted root vegetables, whole poached Boston lobster, Waldorf salad and more.
A suite of Thanksgiving sweets will also be available, such as classic pumpkin pie, southern pecan pie and old-fashioned apple pie. Stuffings and sauces are also purchasable.

Renaissance Seoul Hotel also offers a Thanksgiving turkey menu at its buffet restaurant Cafe Elysee Nov. 24-26.
In addition to the usual 120 buffet menu, the restaurant prepares a live carving station to offer roasted whole turkey with traditional side dishes, including braised carrots, Brussels sprout, roasted honey pumpkin and chestnut bread stuffing.
Cafe Elysee also presents a selection of foods from Jeju Island throughout November. They include raw horse meat, broiled black pork slices, seafood soybean paste stew, braised hairtail and cactus juice.
The price is 54,000 won for the weekday lunch and 59,000 won for the weekday dinner. On weekends, there is a surcharge of 3,000 won for both lunch and dinner. For more information, call 02-2222-8635.
At JW Marriott Seoul, the festive mood of Thanksgiving Day will continue through Christmas.
The hotel’s Deli shop presents to-go turkey menus featuring a choice of turkey sets of 6 kilograms (295,000 won) and 8 kilograms (350,000 won). The sets include roasted turkey with giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, glazed carrots, roasted pumpkin, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes. Customers can choose more side dishes with an additional charge.

Grand Hilton Seoul offers a wine dinner buffet on Nov. 24, featuring classic Thanksgiving festive dishes.
Some of the offerings are roast turkey, bread, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, along with desserts such as pumpkin pie and apple strudel.
Besides the courses, guests can enjoy a free glass of champagne and red wine with the meal.

A special Thanksgiving course menu is available at Ritz-Carlton Seoul’s European-style restaurant, The Garden.
Available on Nov. 24, the six-course menu includes herb-ginger marinated oyster ceviche, chestnut bisque, seared salmon with green beans and tomato beurre blanc, roasted turkey with corn bread, apple and sage stuffing, giblet gravy, sweet pumpkin pie with walnut ice cream, and coffee or tea served with cookies. The price is 80,000 won.
For those preferring to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at home, the Ritz Deli offers turkey-to-go set that includes turkey, cornbread, cranberry sauce, giblet gravy and pumpkin pie, which is for 10-13 servings. It is priced at 250,000 won. For more information, call 02-3451-8000.
Millennium Seoul Hilton’s restaurants are also offering special Thanksgiving menus on Nov. 24.
The hotel’s French restaurant Seasons offers an haute cuisine version of the Thanksgiving dinner, with French gourmet cuisine accented by traditional flavors.
Buffet restaurant Orangerie, Mediterranean all-day dining restaurant Cilantro, and English-style bar Oak Room will all feature bountiful Thanksgiving spreads at their buffets. Cilantro Deli also sells takeout roast turkey.
