Outdoor camping zone at Lotte Jeju attracts guests

If you want to go camping and cook your own meals while enjoying outdoor activities, you have to buy pots, tents and a lot of other gear. These camping items can cost a small fortune for items that won’t be used often.

But there is good news for you if you would like to enjoy a barbecue once in a while.

The Lotte Hotel Jeju offers a perfect venue where guests can enjoy outdoor barbecues while sleeping in a luxury hotel at affordable prices. The hotel’s outdoor camping zone, which opened in August, is equipped with every possible item needed such as pots, pans, portable tables, chairs and most importantly barbeques.

``Guests can sleep in a comfortable hotel room and at the same time try camping, dining and relaxing outdoors. They can choose among three trailers, three cabins and five tents for prices ranging from 70,000 to 100,000 won per person, which includes barbeque food choices such as sausages, seafood, beef and lobster,’’ a hotel spokesman said.

European-style camping trailers lavishly equipped with a private bedroom, kitchen and living room, while luxury tents are set up within a cool forest, providing comfort and coziness with the refreshing scent of trees.

He said Jeju Island used to be a popular destination for newly-married couples, but these days, the whole family comes to the island for a wide range of fun and unique holiday experiences.

``We decided to open the outdoor camping area to better entertain family vacationers to the island. If they prefer to sleep in comfortable indoor rooms, but at the same time want to eat and engage in activities outside, Lotte Jeju is definitely a place for them to stay,’’ the spokesman said. ``The outdoor camping zone has also become a healing spot for minds and bodies of city dwellers.’’

Those seeking to enjoy an outdoor barbecue at the camping zone are required to stay at the hotel and make reservations in advance.

Hello Kitty rooms

Providing further entertainment for children, the ``Hello Kitty’’ room is available and is the one and only among hotels in Korea. Lotte Hotel Jeju has recently completed renovations to turn the entire fourth floor into a fantasy world for Hello Kitty fans.

The hotel offers the Hello Kitty Couple Package and Hello Kitty Family Package, which both include one night stay in a specially designed room, breakfast for two, a Hello Kitty doll and Lush bath bombs. A bottle of wine and handmade chocolates are part of the couple package, while breakfast for one child, along with pizza and beverage room service is prepared for the family package.

Both packages start from 380,000 won. Guests can also enjoy a 50 percent discount on the children’s menu at the Korean, Western and Japanese restaurants. Those purchasing a Hello Kitty item can get 10,000 won off per night.
