Many hotels present similar packages ― vacation deals in summer, romantic stays on Valentine’s Day, beauty and spa treatments for women.

But some offer a very unique package which other hotels cannot copy easily, taking advantage of their specific facilities or special connection with nearby cultural venues.

For those planning small parties, the Novotel Ambassador Gangnam offers the Sweet Memory package. It can be used as a venue for any celebration, such as a proposal for couples, bridal showers or baby showers.

The package features a spacious premier suite and party supplies, including colorful balloons, a bottle of rose wine, a cake and candles, and rental of a Polaroid camera for 10 photos. High-speed Internet access and premium Nespresso coffee are also included.

The package is priced at 370,000 won excluding tax. For more information, call 02-567-1101.

Foreign visitors wanting to experience traditional Korean culture are advised to stay at the Renaissance Seoul Hotel, which will present its Discover Korea Package from September.

It features a one-night stay at a suite with “ondol” (traditional Korean floor heating system), dinner for two and a bottle of makgeolli (rice wine) at Korean restaurant Sabiru.

Guests can also watch the musical “Miso,” themed with the classic love story “Chunghyangjeon,” at Chongdong Theater in central Seoul, with a car ready to take them between the hotel and theater. They can also take a photo wearing traditional Korean costumes.

Other benefits include a discount coupon for duty free shopping, breakfast and happy-hour drinks and snacks at the club lounge and free use of the Renaissance Recreation Center including the indoor swimming pool and sauna. The package is priced at 899,000 won excluding tax. For more information, call 02-2222-8500.

If you have only enjoyed some benefits of a deal and found others unnecessary, here is a chance for you to select your own with the Lotte Hotel Seoul’s Do It Yourself (DIY) Package.

During the special promotion, guests can select one from each of three options, based on a one-night stay.

The Do Activity option offers admission for one adult and one child to the theme park Kidzania, two tickets for Lotte Cinema’s VIP Charlotte theater and two tickets for non-verbal performance “Bibap.” The It Eat option includes a breakfast buffet for two, a voucher for cake at Delica-Hans and two cocktails at Pierre’s Bar. And the Yourself Gift option presents balloons in the room, a flower bouquet and a bottle of wine, a cheese platter and dinner for two at a restaurant of the hotel.

The tailor-made package is priced at 420,000 won and is available through Dec. 31. The options may change. For more information, call 02-759-7311.

At the Seoul Palace Hotel is a package that can never be repeated: The 20th package designed to mark the hotel’s recent promotion to five stars. The hotel has become the 20th five-star hotel in Seoul.

The package includes a one-night stay at an executive room, a bottle of wine and breakfast for two at the Executive Lounge for the price of 200,000 won. Couples celebrating their 20th anniversary of marriage can have their room upgraded to a suite and receive a 50-percent discount at the hotel’s buffet restaurant, The Goong. Guests at the Westin Chosun Seoul can protect the environment with their Be Green package, which was developed to commemorate the hotel’s status as an environmentally friendly hotel.

The eco-friendly deal offers a business deluxe room, which acquired a carbon footprint labeling certification. Guests who buy the package can participate in a campaign to reduce their carbon footprint, organized together by Clarins, by signing a written pledge, and 1 percent of the 260,000-won package price will be used for the hotel’s tree planting campaign next year.

Guests are also encouraged to keep their room temperature at moderate levels and to use tumblers instead of disposable paper cups. Customers using tumblers get two free cups of coffee at Vecchia e Nuovo.

The package is available through Dec. 30. For more information, call 02-317-0404.
