The JW Marriott Seoul

The JW Marriott Seoul’s Marquis Thermal Spa opened a new couple room with Deluxe Aromatherapy Treatment. It costs 220,000 won per person, includes therapists choosing the best aroma oil for each guest and top-rated masseuses providing a one hour body massage, followed by 30-minute anti-aging facial massage.

Besides the treatment, the couple will have herbal tea and fruit, a 15-minute therapeutic foot bath, and free access to the Marquis Fitness Club which includes squash courts, indoor golf and a pool.

The Seoul Palace Hotel

The Seoul Palace Hotel offers the “In Bare Feet Package” in which guests can have a picnic at nearby parks with a hamper of sandwiches and beverages prepared by the hotel’s chefs.

The hotel’s own guide map offers information on picnic locations and walking paths in the vicinity, including Banpo Stream, Seorae Island, Banpo Han River Park, Seoripul Park and Monmarte Park.

The package also includes one night in the modern French executive room, breakfast for two at the hotel lounge, early check-in of 10 a.m. and late check-out of 2 p.m. It is available through June 30 at 185,000 won. For more information call 02-532-5000.

The Banyan Tree Club

The Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul’s all-day dining restaurant, Granum Dining Lounge, presents the Asian Dumpling Menu throughout April. It includes steamed beef and mushroom dumplings, pan-fried pork and leek gyoza with pineapple chutney, steamed prawn dumplings with salad, and wanton soup. Four seasonings such as sesame dressing and Japanese soy sauce will be served.

Each dumpling dish is priced at 22,000 won.

The Grand InterContinental Seoul

The Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas’ Grand Cafe offers the “Super Food 10” set menu, allowing guests to indulge in the world’s top 10 super foods selected by Time magazine in 2002. They are: blueberry, tomato, broccoli, red wine, nuts, salmon, garlic, spinach, green tea and oats.

Some of the featured dishes are tomato salad with a walnut dressing, broccoli and red wine, eggplant soup with garlic, pumpkin barley corn risotto, grilled salmon and sea bass steak with spinach sauce, blueberry cake and green tea.

The Renaissance Seoul Hotel

The Renaissance Seoul Hotel will hold cooking classes for kids at the buffet restaurant Cafe Elysee on weekends in May.

Under the cafe chefs’ instruction, children will make salads, pizza and desserts, learning not only the recipe but also about nutrition, vegetable identification and dining etiquette. Each child will receive an apron, chef’s hat, certificate and a Polaroid photo. Parents will have afternoon tea with sandwiches, pastries and cakes.

The classes will be held every Saturday and Sunday from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Children aged between four and 12 are eligible for the six to 12-member sessions. Each one is priced at 60,000 won for one child and one adult. For more information call 02-2222-8635.
