For those wanting to have a luxury stay at the heart of Seoul’s business and tourist districts, Lotte Hotel Seoul is the best option.

Lotte Hotel Seoul was selected for 2010 Best Business Hotel in Seoul by Business Traveller, a renowned business travel magazine, and 2010 Best City Hotel ― Seoul by Travel Trade Gazette (TTG).
With a six-year renovation completed in October, Lotte Hotel Seoul provides more upgraded services. The new building, which opened in 1988, underwent a renovation for all guestrooms in 2004, and its lobby was moved to 14th floor in 2006, offering more spacious check-in/check-out area.
The renovation of the main building was put in tenders, with four design companies ― SOM, Wilson&Associates, HBA and Babey Moulton ― participating in the bid.

In order to provide distinguished advantage to female guests, it opened “Lady’s Floor,” a women-exclusive floor, for the first time in Korea in September 2009. The floor is gaining good feedback from foreign women guests, and Korean female guests also enjoy the floor for a pajama party.
Club Lounge, an exclusive area for business travelers, breakfast buffet, lunch snack, afternoon tea, and evening chocolate and pastry are prepared. Meeting rooms, workstation, separate smoking room and library are also available.
Not only the interior but also the service has been innovated. Under the motto of “Lotte, the World Best Hotel,” the hotel has improved service and encouraged its staff to change their mindset for better hospitality. It allows prominent staffers to inspect overseas hotels and hosts sommelier or culinary competitions.
The hotel also boasts world’s famous chefs. Chefs at the Korean restaurant Mugunghwa have provided their menus to national guests at events such as dinners at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae. Some other chefs also won international culinary competitions.
It also opened a restaurant led by Michelin three-star chef Pierre Gagnaire. The French restaurant, Pierre Gagnaire a Seoul, was recognized as Korea’s best restaurant by Miele Guide in 2009.
Lotte Hotel, which now has four hotels each in central Seoul, eastern Seoul, Ulsan and Jeju, plans to increase the number of its chains here and abroad to more than 20 by 2018, becoming a global chain hotel. It opened business hotel Lotte City Hotel Mapo in April 2009, and Lotte Hotel Moscow in September this year. Another business hotel will open in the latter half of next year near Gimpo Airport. Other places where the hotel group plans to build its chains include Shenyang in China, Hanoi in Vietnam, eastern Seoul and Busan. Resort towns will also be made in Jeju, following the recently opened one in Buyeo in South Chungcheong Province.
