Lotte Hotel offers luxurious experience at heart of Seoul

For those wanting a luxury stay at the heart of Seoul's business and tourist districts, Lotte Hotel Seoul is the best option.

The hotel's 1,124 guestrooms offer some of the most convenient amenities and services.

Lotte Hotel Seoul was selected as the 2010 Best Business Hotel in Seoul by Business Traveller, a renowned business travel magazine, and the 2010 Best City Hotel ?Seoul by the Travel Trade Gazette (TTG).

Room renovation

With a six-year renovation completed in October, Lotte Hotel Seoul provides a wider range of upgraded services. The annex building, which first opened in 1988, underwent a renovation of all its guestrooms in 2004, and the lobby was moved to the 14th floor in 2006, offering a more spacious check-in/check-out area.

The renovation was tendered, and four design companies ?SOM, Wilson&Associates, HBA and Babey Moulton ?participated in the bid.

Exclusive floors

In order to provide a distinguished advantage to female guests, it opened the "Lady's Floor," a women-exclusive floor, for the first time in Korea in September 2009.

The floor receives good feedback from foreign female guests, and Korean women also have enjoyed pajama parties on the floor.

The Club Lounge, an exclusive area for business travelers, offers a breakfast buffet, lunch snack, afternoon tea, and evening chocolates and pastries. Meeting rooms, workstations, separate smoking rooms and a library are also available in the lounge.

Distinguished service

Not only the interior facilities and ambience but also the service is innovative. Under the motto of "Lotte, the World's Best Hotel,?the hotel has improved services and encouraged its staff to change their mindset to provide better hospitality.

It allows prominent staff members to inspect overseas hotels and hosts sommelier or culinary competitions.

Fine restaurants

The hotel also boasts world's famous chefs. Chefs at the Korean restaurant Mugunghwa have cooked for guests at events such as dinners at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae. Other chefs have won international culinary competitions.

As for gourmet delights, the hotel opened a restaurant led by Michelin three-star chef Pierre Gagnaire.

The French restaurant, Pierre Gagnaire a Seoul, was recognized as Korea's best restaurant by Miele Guide in 2009.

Forward global chain

Lotte Hotel, which now has four hotels in central Seoul, eastern Seoul, Ulsan and Jeju, plans to increase its number here and abroad to more than 20 by 2018, eventually becoming a global chain. It opened the business hotel Lotte City Hotel Mapo in April 2009, and Lotte Hotel Moscow in September this year. Another business hotel will open in the latter half of next year near Gimpo Airport.

Other cities in which the hotel group plans to expand include Shenyang in China, Hanoi in Vietnam, eastern Seoul and Busan. Resort towns will also be created in Jeju, following the one recently opened in Buyeo in South Chungcheong Province.
