Hilton Namhae Resort and Spa is in a unique position in every way ― it is located in the southern coastal area of Namhae focusing on the resort facilities rather than the room and dining. In the spring time, the cherry blossom induces lovers while summer is vibrant with holiday makers seeking getaways near the beach. Autumn is colorful with foil leaves and the relatively warmer winter breeze invites those who hate the cold and shivery winter.

It is not for businessmen staying a night as part of their busy schedules or an upper class moms' afternoon tea salon. With a great 18-hole golf course and walking trail, it is crowded with weekend golfers and families enjoying the shady terrace and restaurants with views of the sunset.

Stefano A Ruzza, general manager of the hotel, is also an ardent fan of nature and the resort's surroundings. ``When I wake up in the morning, I go to the terrace, or the window, and take a deep breath. I see the horizon, and oh God, that brings me chills all over,'' he said smiling.

``Some people may ask why I didn't choose a fancy cosmopolitan downtown hotel with bustling guests and all the glamour. But here, I was able to find something new. A great environment and space to breathe.''

The hotel has recently developed several walking routes nearby and rents bicycles to guests. Temples, tea houses and other half day-tourists' attractions are promoted in the hotel lobby and the hotel is promoted by the Namhae city administration, too. ``It is for mutual benefits that we have to support each other,'' said Ruzza.

Now, there are plans to renovate the club houses and Ruzza is also thinking of establishing a book caf?, with nice seating at an open lounge.

The general manager said the Namhae resort has everything it takes to be a people-friendly, people-caring destination.

``Since Namhae is not such a big city, every staff member learns to form a good liaison with each other, which leads to integrity. People are very committed and we genuinely enjoy what we do.''

In fact, if you are lucky enough, you may end up bowling, playing golf or taking part in other activities the staff do by shutting down part of the resort on a laid back day. ``Here, anyone can become friends. It doesn't mean that we have forgotten about hospitality and who we are serving, but we are more relaxed and outgoing,'' he said.

``Come, enjoy golf tours and let your ladies enjoy the spa and trekking. Then enjoy sashimi at our sunset view robadayaki Japanese bar, and relieve your stress and enjoy a whole new spirit.''
