The Westin Chosun Seoul's front desk offers an ``Airport One Stop Service,'' where guests no longer need to wait in line to check in. They can get their keys at the airport and go straight to their rooms.
The service provides a complete check in service at the airport, such as checking the passport and opening up a bill. The hotel management expects the service to attract those who need to go straight to work with no time to stop at the hotel.
Also, in case a wrong reservation or delayed flight situation occurs, hotel associates at the airport will ensure that guests are looked after by contacting the hotel while they are on their way. And when a guest gets a taxi, the hotel associate informs the driver of the destination, gets the name card of the driver and records the taxi's number plate and contact number to prevent overcharging or going to the wrong destination.
For more information on the service, call (02) 317-0228.
The average price of the world's hotel rooms fell by 14 percent in 2009, according to Hotels.com.
This drop was driven by lower prices on every continent, the international online hotel booker said.
Hotels in Korea's capital also fared well in this respect. Due to fluctuation in currencies, for travelers paying in U.S. dollars, the average room rate in Seoul fell by 9 percent.
But it was visitors to Seoul paying in Japanese yen who saw the greatest rewards with the average room rate per night falling by 34 percent, meaning a trip to the Korean capital represented a significantly better value than it had a year earlier.
David Roche, the president of Hotels.com, said, "Despite some possible early signs of hotel prices recovering in most regions around the world in the last quarter of 2009, the promotions and great value looks set to continue for some time yet. 2010 promises to be another great year for travelers."
