Sheraton Incheon Hotel

The Sheraton Incheon Hotel launched its Japanese restaurant Miyabi Sept. 2.

The 98-seat restaurant has three rooms equipped with a floor-seating system and one room with table and chairs.

Its menu ranges from sushi, sashimi, original Japanese meal courses, as well as high-end sake. At its open kitchen, chefs will offer freshly cooked teriyaki-sauce yagyu, seafood mix, abalone and scallop dishes.

Lunch and dinner sets are provided, ranging from sashimi, sushi to bento and pork cutlet.

Lunch is priced from 39,000 to 70,000 won, and dinner, 50,000 to 150,000 won, exclusive of tax.

Lotte Hotel Seoul

Park Sung-hoon of the Lotte Hotel Seoul won a gold medal in the cooking category at the Youth Skill Olympics in Calgary, Canada, Sunday.

Park, 19, is an intern in the hotel's Pierre Gagnaire restaurant. He is the first Asian to win the medal in the culinary category since 1979.

The Youth Skill Olympics is an international vocational training competition for those aged under 22.

Ritz-Carlton Seoul

The Ritz-Carlton Seoul will host an Exterior Design Competition from Sept. 9 through Oct. 23.

Registered architects and designers as well as students of architectural design from both Korea and around the world are invited to participate in the competition to win a total of 15 million won. The contest is part of the hotel's renovation of its exterior.

The theme is to find a design that expresses harmony with the existing building, a creative concept, and the elegance and high quality associated with the Ritz-Carlton brand.

Hopefuls can download an application form at www.ritzcarltonseoul.com and apply either via e-mail or bring the filled application to the hotel with an A3-sized bird's eye view, the final image file of the design, an explanation in both Korean and English, and copies of relevant personal identification documents.

The final results will be posted on the hotel homepage on Nov. 2 and individual notification will be given.

Renaissance Seoul Hotel's Manhattan Grill

The Renaissance Seoul Hotel's Manhattan Grill steakhouse presents a ``Live Lobster and Hanwoo Beef Promotion'' through Oct. 31.

Lobster with fresh oyster, spinach and garlic cheese sauce; fried lobster with garlic cheese sauce; lobster with wild mushroom and mozzarella cheese; and top-class Hanwoo steak will be provided for between 68,000 to 120,000 won.
