During the month of April, entertain your taste buds with spicy Mexican food offered by local chefs.

The Grand Hilton Seoul presents a Mexican promotion until the end of April at its buffet restaurant and Atrium Cafe, where a large array of food assures refreshment through the spring.

In addition to the original buffet spread, the buffet offers various Central American foods, from empanadas, classic tacos and burritos to chicken enchiladas and Mexican rice dishes. Small Mexican flags are set next to the native dishes.

There is a special station for tacos and fajitas where a chef makes the dishes instantly upon request. Guests can personally add their favorite sauce to the fresh concoctions, prepared there, while seasoned tacos and cheese, salsa and guacamole are also available.

The buffet is priced at 44,000 won for lunch and 54,000 won for dinner on weekdays and 47,000 won and 56,000 won on weekends. Call (02) 2287-8271 for more information.

For those who want to dine on Mexican food in a less crowded way, the Atrium Cafe also serves three- and four-course meals, including soup, salad, apple sherbet, a choice of broiled salmon or chicken breast and forest mousse as dessert. Although the dishes might not sound overly Mexican, all dressings are made in Mexican style.

The cost is 41,000 won for the three-course and 51,000 won for the four-course meal. For reservations, call Atrium Cafe at (02) 2287-8270.

Other local restaurants also serve Mexican cuisine in various ways.

Toma Tillo, in Jongno, has become a hot place for office workers at lunchtime. Customers can choose what will be in their taco, burrito, quesadilla or tostada. After choosing the main ingredient ― beef, pork, chicken, fish or vegetables ― they can add other ingredients. Toma Tillo's chef learned Mexican cooking from a chef in Los Angeles. Call (02) 734-9225.

On the Border, a United States-based Mexican restaurant chain, serves casual but authentic food in a family-restaurant mood. The restaurant has two branches in Sinchon and COEX. Call (02) 324-0682 for Sinchon and (02) 565-0682 for COEX.

Chois' Tacos, another taco stand in Sinchon, is famous for its burrito-eating contest. Call (02) 362-2113.
