Lotte and Shilla, both homegrown hotel chains, celebrate their 30th anniversary with various promotions and events. Shilla opened on March 8, 1979 and Lotte opened two days later.

Lotte marked many ``firsts'' in the Korean hospitality business, such as hosting the 28th Pacific Asia Travel Association in April 1979, just a month after its opening. It was the first international forum held in Korea and home to the restaurant of three-star Michelin chef Pierre Gagnaire. Shilla was the choice of VIPs including heads of the United States, China, Russia and Japan.

Lotte Hotel Seoul will give the third, 30th and 300th guests of its ``Ladies Floor Package'' free gifts such as hotel vouchers from March to June.

The Ladies Floor, located on the 22nd floor of the main building, is the first female-only hotel floor in Korea. The rooms are decorated with a nature theme and equipped with a jacuzzi, environment-friendly amenities, hair-styling set, facial steamer and offer organic beverages. Guest can also have breakfast in the Club Lounge. The package includes other benefits including spa vouchers, tumblers, key rings, and welcoming wine, macaroons and fruit. It provides discounts for restaurants, room service and duty free shops as well.

Mega CC, the premium brewery pub of Lotte Hotel World, offers discounts on its house beer in April. Every 30th guest will receive 3,000 cc of free beer and those born in 1979, the same year as the hotel opened, will get 500 cc and a 30 percent discount.

The hotel also plans to make a foray into overseas markets with its first hotel opening in Moscow in December. Lotte Hotel will have another overseas branch, a multi-complex in Shenyang, China, which is scheduled to open in 2013.
